About the Department
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 2010 to start a 4-year B.Tech degree programme(with an annual in-take of 120 students) affiliated to the jntuk University. The first batch of students graduated from the department in the year 2014. A post graduate programme leading to M.Tech. degree in 'VLSI' & 'DECS' was introduced in the year 2012.
The Department of Electronics and Communication has full fledged laboratories namely EDC Lab, Analog and Digital Communications Lab, Electronic circuits and PDC Lab, IC Applications Lab, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers Lab, DSP and E-CAD Lab, VLSI, IOT Applications, Microwave and Optical communication Lab. The Labs are well equipped with the latest components to cater to the curriculum requirements.
Courses Offered
B.Tech (E.C.E.)
Vision
To produce Innovative Engineering graduates with forefront Technology and Research to meet the Industry and the societal needs.
Mission
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
Analog Communication Laboratory
This lab provides the information about the different types of modulators and demodulators used and types of techniques used for the processing of the analog (continuous) signals.
Digital Communication Laboratory
The communication Systems Laboratory intends to cover the basic understanding of functionalities of various block-sets involved in communication system. It involves system design and simulation exercises using MATLAB and Simulink and experiments based on HW boards.
Electronic Devices and Circuits Laboratory
This lab is well provided with equipment like Cathode Ray Oscilloscopes (CRO), Digital Oscilloscopes, Regulated DC power supplies (RPS), Function Generators and Digital and Analog meters of a wide range. This lab gives practical observation on different basic applications of electronic devices. This gives a good foundation on electronic devices to the students in the initial years.
Integrated Circuits & Pulse and Digital Circuits Laboratory
A digital integrated circuit is an electronic device that collects several digital electronic components on a small semiconductor chip. Usually, each integrated circuit (IC) is designed to perform a particular function.
Micro Processors and Micro Controllers Laboratory
The Microprocessors and Microcontrollers Laboratory helps the students to understand the basic operation of Microprocessors and Microcontrollers along with fundamental programming skills in assembly language and Embedded C programming. This Laboratory creates the foundation for designing, analyzing and implementing engineering and programming problems.
Microwave and Optical Communication Laboratory
The Microwave and Optical communications Lab concentrates on providing hands on experience on the basic concepts of Microwave and Optical communications. Numerous microwave devices are practically studied for calculation of VSWR, S – Parameter, frequency etc. The way the optical fiber can be used for communication is studied along with estimation of losses occurring thereby.
Simulation Laboratory
A simulation lab is designed to provide immersive learning experiences for healthcare practitioners and students.
