About the Department

Department of mechanical engineering has established in the year 2009. Department of mechanical engineering is one of the oldest branches' of engineering. Department has well equipped laboratories, Workshops and other infrastructure facilities. Students of mechanical engineering are exposed to the latest topics in the area of design, thermal , manufacturing, material science , materials engineering etc.

Mission

  • Produce engineers proficient in the Production, Design, Thermal and Industrial Engineering fields by imparting knowledge in Basic Sciences as well as various domains of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Develop problem solving ability and interpersonal skills in student to overcome professional challenges.
  • To carry out high quality research leading to the creation of knowledge and of intellectual property.

  • To attain technical skills to analyze and solve complex problems and issues related to Mechanical Engineering.
  • To motivate the students to adapt to the new technological trends in Mechanical Engineering to address the societal needs.

  • Apply the principles of Thermal and Engineering Design for Analysis and Development of Mechanical Systems.
  • Able to model, simulate, analyze and optimize mechanical systems / processes through application of software.

Mechanics of Solids Lab

Explores solid materials under various loads, utilizing testing apparatus for material characterization and structural analysis.

Metallurgy Lab

Investigates properties and behavior of metals and alloys, providing practical insights into metal extraction, heat treatment, and alloying processes.

Production Technology Lab

Offers practical understanding of manufacturing processes, including metal casting, machining, and various production methods.

Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics Lab

Focuses on fluid dynamics principles and hydraulic systems, featuring experimental setups for studying fluid flow, pressure measurement, and hydraulic machinery.

Theory of Machines Lab

Examines machine dynamics and kinematics, allowing students to experiment with mechanisms and understand machine component behavior.

Machine Tools Lab

Provides hands-on experience with different machine tools used in manufacturing processes, fostering proficiency in machining operations.

Thermal Engineering Lab

Explores thermodynamics and heat engines, featuring apparatus for studying heat cycles, combustion, and energy conversion.

Heat Transfer Lab

Investigates heat transfer mechanisms, including conduction, convection, and radiation, allowing students to understand heat exchange processes through experiments.

Metrology & Instrumentation Lab

Focuses on precision measurement techniques and instrumentation, equipping students with skills in dimensional metrology and advanced measuring instruments.
