Standard Operating Procedure

Purpose:

India pledged to create a socially just and equitable society when it attained independence.  Several sections in the Special Provisions of the CONSTITUTION OF INDIA strive to eliminate discrimination and allow members of various groups to participate equally and freely in public life. The Indian Constitution has various specific provisions in favor of OBC.

 

Objectives:

To implement the policy for the OBC students in the college in respect of admissions, scholarships and other similar matters in the College.

To create awareness among the students of OBC regarding various scholarships of the State and Central Governments.

 

Scope:

Vikas Group of Institutions is the destination for high quality education comprising almost all the areas of studies such as UG and PG in Engineering and Pharmacy, and Polytechnic courses, strives to establish an inclusive and unbiased environment for pupils from all backgrounds. To maintain a discrimination free environment, the OBC cell is established to solve any problems being faced by the faculty and the students. The cell ensures that the reservation regulations of the Government of India are followed for student admissions and staff recruitment at all levels. It gathers information on policy execution, trends, and shifts.

 

Responsibility:

Vikas Group of Institutions takes any sort of allegations of discrimination, whether they are explicit or subliminal, against the OBC students, employees, or faculty very seriously. Several initiatives have been put in place by Vikas Group of Institutions with the OBC Committee headed by the Principal/Director of the Institution as the Chairman of the Committee.  These members of the Cell oversee all the activities of the Cell.

 

Composition:

The Committee is headed by the Principal/Director of the Institution as the Chairman

One faculty member identified by the Principal as the in-charge of the Committee.

One faculty member from each department as the members of the Committee.

Two students as the members to represent the students in the Committee.
